Food

La neta meaning 'the truth' in Spanish, is a small, yet incredibly busy and authentic Mexican restaurant! They offer a great deal of traditional tacos; the most famous being the juicy “Taco al Pastor”! This taco has its origins in Middle Eastern cuisine, taking inspiration from the traditional shawarma. Over time, the dish adapted to Mexico by exchanging the pita bread with corn tortillas, the lamb for pork, and adding a nice piece of pineapple on top. In la Neta they aren’t about to let you down, adding lots of lime and a broad variety of tasty salsas to choose from at the salsa bar, you are guaranteed a great evening exploring flavors you didn’t even know existed. La Neta also offers a large variety of vegetarian and vegan options featuring ingredients such as cactus!

Style, Location & Interior

La Neta is located in the busy junction between Fælledvej and Nørrebrogade, just 5-10 minutes walk from Dronning Louises bro. The interior is humble, however cheerful and authentic with lots of colors, providing you with the perfect setting of a traditional Mexican “taqueria”.

On the weekends, it can get quite busy which means you might have to wait for a table since reservations are not available. Also, as more people fill the relatively small space, it can get quite loud combined with the music playing. All together, it gives a great, vibrant athmosphere!

Service

As in any Mexican taqueria, the service in La Neta can with a few exceptions easily be deemed as “self-service”. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful and will give plenty of advice from where to find the salsas, explaining the ingredients to the free tap water. Ordering and cleaning up, you are mostly in charge of doing yourself, which is also reflected in the very reasonable prices.
